Lead policy
Quality standard, replacements and refunds · Last reviewed September 2026
What a lead has to be before it goes out
A person looks at every lead before it's released. To get through, it needs:
- A real job, described well enough that you can actually price it.
- The right suburb, inside the service area.
- The right trade category.
- Contact details that work.
- A customer who's agreed to be contacted.
- A source and a date, written down.
When you get it replaced or credited
Tell us within 72 hours of taking it and it's replaced or credited if:
- The contact details don't work after three goes across two days.
- The customer says they never asked for the work.
- It's a different trade, or a suburb you didn't nominate.
- The job was already given to someone before the lead went out.
- We sold you the same job twice.
- The job doesn't exist.
When you don't
You don't get a lead replaced because:
- You never got around to chasing it.
- The customer went with someone else.
- Someone quoted cheaper.
- The budget turned out to be less than you'd hoped.
- You couldn't fit the job in.
- You rang after they'd already booked someone.
None of that's meant to be harsh. It's the line between a lead that failed and a job that simply went to another bloke, and the line has to sit somewhere.
How many of you get the same lead
Every lead tells you how many tradies have already taken it, before you spend a cent. We can cap it per category so the customer isn't getting rung by half of Canberra and the lead isn't worthless by the time it reaches you.
Third-party leads are labelled as such
Some leads come from public sources — a tender notice, an opportunity advertised out in the open. Those get labelled as third-party, with where we found them and when. They aren't requests made to us, they may already be doing the rounds, and the replacement rules above are limited to match. You'll always know which sort you're looking at before you take it.
Where the leads come from
We only use information that's publicly accessible, given to us, or licensed to us. We don't get around logins, paywalls, access controls or anti-bot protections. We stick to site terms, robots rules, copyright, privacy and rate limits. We don't collect sensitive personal information. And if something's doubtful, it sits with a person for review instead of landing in your inbox.
Something wrong with a lead?
Use the contact form, pick "A problem with a lead", and give us the reference number and what happened. We'd much rather cop it than have you quietly decide the leads aren't worth trusting.
